Set Sail into 2025 with Sapphire Bay Yacht Club!
· Anyone with a sailboat on Lake Ray Hubbard
· Anyone with a powerboat on Lake Ray Hubbard
· Anyone with a boat on Lake Ray Hubbard
A two-hour cruise on a Saturday afternoon with staggered starting times to get everyone back to the dock at about the same time. The course is defined for sailboats, but powerboats are welcome to tag along, take pictures, do donuts, etc. Boatless persons may find a ride, especially on the bigger boats.
Saturday afternoons through the 2025 sailing season, starting May 3, 2025.
Slowest sailboats leave Mark 27 about 2:00 (exact time for your boat to be provided). Faster boats leave after that, with fastest boats around 2:35.
If you are using your phone for time, load an app that will show you seconds.
Check in at Sapphire Bay Marina Easy Days Pavilion before departing.
Start and finish at Mark 27 right outside Sapphire Bay Marina. The designated course gives sailboats a nice tour of Lake Ray Hubbard under most wind conditions. If any marks are missing, just sail close to the posted location.
Return to Sapphire Bay Marina Easy Days pavilion for a social after you get back. BYOB
Why not? It will be a beautiful day, perfect for an afternoon on the water. Justify that boat’s existence. If it isn’t a beautiful day, there’s always next week.
Check in at the Sapphire Bay Marina Easy Days pavilion before 1:30 to get a time assignment and ask questions.
Sail as hard as you want, but remember the rules:
· Don’t take anything except safety too seriously.
· Don’t scare anybody – watch out for each other and keep a bit of distance.
· Don’t run out of <beverages>.
Watch for shallows southeast of Dalrock peninsula!
